Milk Beverages | What is what?

When it comes to coffee, there are countless ways to enjoy it - from black to with a splash of milk. But what about when you want to take your coffee game to the next level? That's where milk beverages come in!

One of the most popular milk beverages is a latte. A latte is made by pouring steamed milk over a shot of espresso. The result is a creamy and smooth drink that has a coffee flavour balanced by the sweetness of the milk. Typically served in a 12 oz cup or larger with a double shot of espresso.

Another classic milk beverage is a cappuccino. A cappuccino is similar to a latte, but  with only 8 oz of milk, and is frothed to a more substantial consistency. As a result, cappuccinos have a more intense coffee flavour and a thicker, more velvety-texture than lattes.

A macchiato is a drink that features a shot of espresso with a small amount of milk or foam on the top. This results in a drink that is stronger in taste. This is a good option if you want to enjoy the full flavour of the espresso with a very small amount of milk. You can have a “wet” or “dry” macchiato. This means more milk thank froth for “wet”, and more frothy milk than liquid for “dry”

A flat white is another common cafe milk beverage and is similar to a latte, but with a little less milk, resulting in a richer and more intense flavour. Served in an 8 oz cup with less foam than a cappuccino and a latte.

There are many different milk beverages to explore and enjoy and a few others not mentioned here but if you have any questions about milk beverages we are happy to help and find you the right thing!
